For years it has been a practice in many Catholic families to bring a basket of food, prepared for the Easter meal, to church for a special blessing on Holy Saturday. We will continue this practice in our Saint Clement/Saint James communities with a Blessing of Food at 12 noon on Saturday, March 31st, at Saint Clement.
This deeply rooted tradition is rich with symbolism for Easter, Spring, the Resurrection and many other reminders of our faith. Even if you do not have a basket to bring feel free to join us for this short prayer service to learn about the richness of this tradition, and to prepare in a small and simple way for our coming Easter celebration.
